A couple of decades wiser...

First, and foremost, I am not an egomaniac. This little homestead of mine on the 'Net is more about being able to do something like this than it is to talk about something as mundane as my life! This technology is way beyond cool. And it's so much easier than setting up a BBS on an old CP/M machine!

One of my favorite quotations sums up my general outlook on life:

"Live! Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!"
-- Mame Dennis Burnside ("Auntie Mame", circa Rosalind Russell)

With that out of the way...

I lead a relatively simple life. I grew up comfortably in the suburbs of Chicago with a pretty normal childhood (as normal as a precocious only child could be in the '70s, that is). I'm part of that odd "in-between" generation of "just after a baby-boomer" and "a little before generation-X."

I went to high school at Lyons Township High School (class of 1985), where I broke out of my shell and started to figure out just what and who I was. After enduring the trials and tribulations of adolescence, I went off to school in the great white northlands of Minneapolis.

After more trials and tribulations than I care to remember... and a lot of positive life experiences, some education, many good times, and many, many friends richer, I came back to Chicago and continued to figure out just who the heck I was and where I fit in the cosmos. I'll be sure to report that news here when I do finally get that all sorted out. Suggestions are welcome too.

I have been fortunate to have inherited some good traits from my parents: a never ending curiosity and fascination with technology, and the ability to excite people about technology. I have been involved with computers since I started playing with... and selling them... in high school. This activity led, naturally, to a career in the Graphic Arts. Go figure.

My career has encompassed roles from sales and service to training and marketing. Currently, I am director of industry marketing for Kodak Versamark, the high-speed (and profitable) division of Eastman Kodak. My role is more or less an Evangelist; and more often than not I love what I do. My career has taken me to many places- just about every state in the U.S. and most of the continents of the world. It never ceases to amaze me at how much smaller the world gets the more of it you see.

My career also has led me to Boston, where I currently call "home."

I share my home, and my life, with a very special person named Jeffrey Taylor. On July 17, 2004 - on our 11th anniversary together -  we celebrated by becoming a legally recognized, married couple (thank you, Massachusetts!).

Like I said, it's a simple and altogether "normal" existence. I go to work... I travel a bit... I play on the computer... and I seem to visit Home Depot a lot. If I can squeeze in some gardening and time in the kitchen, all the better.

Welcome to my world... and thanks for visiting!

(jet lag is so much easier when you have friends!)
